SOMATIC EMBODIMENT YOGA
Somatic Embodiment Yoga is a Trauma-Informed Somatic Yoga Practice that was created by Stefani Wilton B.A., RMT, C-IAYT, CYA-YT, E-RYT 500. With her background in Thai Yoga Massage (RMT 2200 hours), Somatic Therapy (MBST/ISTP), and Yoga Therapy (IAYT Certified), she created this beautiful system to create an accessible space for her students to experience their own embodiment and safety within their bodies and embodied community. With personal and professional experience with neurodivergent needs, Stefani's approach to teaching is especially supportive for those who have sensory issues or a history of trauma.
Somatic Embodiment Yoga was born from the belief that yoga has the power to connect us to ourselves, our bodies, and others profoundly. When offered in a trauma-respectful way, yoga can transform us. Somatic Embodiment Yoga explores Restorative, and gentle adaptive Viniyoga practice as a tool for connecting with and moving through your emotions.
Somatic Embodiment Yoga takes you on a feminine journey of self-reflection and experience through the arts of Somatic Therapy, Yoga, Philosophy, Meditation, and Breath. Through the lens of Ayurveda and the Chakra systems, we learn to better understand ourselves and our needs. We learn how to come home to ourselves. Rooted in Yoga Therapy Wisdom, this is a yoga practice designed for the reclamation of your body, a transformation of your mind, and the cultivation of resilience within your nervous system.

SOMATIC YOGA THERAPY
Somatic Yoga Therapy originates from the Krishnamacharya lineage of yoga therapy, which is a somatic (mind-body) practice of self-inquiry and deep listening to the kosha or layers of the self, being physical, emotional-mental, energetic-nervous system and connection to one's wisdom. (Yoga Therapy shares parallels with Social Work's Bio-Psycho-Social Model.) While there are many schools of yoga therapy, this particular lineage leans into the exploration of being IN one's body, allowing oneself to FEEL and be with their feelings, breath, and emotions while cultivating resiliency, wisdom, and contentment through meditative practices stemming from Tantric Buddhism and Mindfulness.

EMOTIONAL ENERGETIC EMBODIMENT
Somatic Yoga Therapy is based on the 3 core principles of Emotional Release, Energetic Healing, and Embodiment. Practices always begin with creating a safe container, establishing ease, and supporting students in empowered self-discovery. We use this foundation to access our own innate transformation as we move into powerful practices from a place of our own want and consent. We use vinyasa krama to intelligently open the body and cultivate resilience by practicing how to regulate ourselves through breath, meditation, mantra, and mudra.

SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY
Practices invite you to experience your own embodiment, feeling and being in your body, being with your emotions and with your breath. To practice Somatic Yoga Therapy is to come home to your body.

TRAUMA RESPECTFUL
Mandorla seeks to create teachers who use trauma-respectful language that encourages the student's own autonomy and self-discovery. Yoga can be a powerful tool for tapping into the innate bodies' wisdom. Many of us have trauma and going to a yoga class can be a step toward our healing journey with the proper support.
AYURVEDA
All of our programs are rooted in the wisdom of Yoga's sister art, Ayurveda. Like Yoga, Ayurveda gives us tools to better understand ourselves and what we need for balance. Combining these arts together creates yoga practices that are rich with insight for bringing ourselves into a place of balance and restoration. These practices take you on a somatic (mind/body) journey of connection with your body and breath through the Ayurvedic Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. Each practice gently invites you to engage in your own self-inquiry and to play with your own expressions of movement, sensation, and stillness.
